The Asbury Park Reggae Festival was never supposed to happen.

There was no major sponsor.

No large entertainment company.

No big production budget waiting in the wings.

Just a handful of independent musicians who believed that reggae music deserved a home on the Jersey Shore.

So we built one.

Last year, local artists, friends, volunteers, vendors, and music lovers came together to create something special. What started as a simple idea became a day filled with live music, positive energy, and genuine community.

And now we’re doing it again.

Why We Need Your Help

The festival remains completely free and open to the public because we believe great music should be accessible to everyone.

But putting on a festival isn’t free.

There are stages, sound systems, permits, insurance, equipment, marketing, logistics, and countless behind-the-scenes expenses that make the event possible. Most importantly, there are the musicians themselves—artists who dedicate their time, talent, and energy to creating an unforgettable experience for the community.

Every contribution helps support the people and infrastructure that bring this festival to life.

What makes this event different is that it wasn’t created by a corporation or outside promoter.

It was built by the artists.

The bands performing at this festival are the same people helping organize it, promote it, and make it happen. They do it because they love the music, the culture, and the community that surrounds it.
